Police solves murder case with arrest of two, including a minor

The Koomkalan police have claimed to solve the murder case of 22-year-old Deepu of Kohara with the arrest of two persons, including a minor.

The accused Santosh Kumar of Mangarh village was arrested on Monday late, while his 17-year-old brother-in-law was arrested on Tuesday, following the information provided by Santosh. The accused were on Tuesday produced before the court, which remanded

Santosh Kumar to two-day police custody, while his minor brother-in-law has been sent to juvenile home on judicial remand.

The police had registered a case of killing against the accused on March 14 following the statement of deceased's uncle Shripal Ishri.

Inspector Vinod Kumar, station house officer (SHO), at Koomkalan police station, said, “The accused have told the police that they had gone to attend a party on Friday. While dancing they engaged into a scuffle with Deepu. After the party, they took Deepu to a tubewell room in the fields and thrashed him badly. They also confessed that they strangulated Deepu, dragged his body to an acid factory that is at distance of 100 m from the area and threw his dead body in the pit of the factory with intention to destroy all evidences.”

The SHO said, “The pit was empty, and on Saturday, the factory workers noticed the dead body and informed the police. The police initiated investigation and solved the murder case within two days of lodging the FIR.”
