The district police are planning to bring Khalistani terrorist Jagtar Singh alias Tara, one of the assassins of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh who has been brought back by the Punjab police from Thailand, on production warrants for interrogation in connection with the arrest of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Ramandeep Singh alias Sunny from Bathinda. Sunny is in judicial custody these days. Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Inder Mohan Singh Bhatti said that the police will interrogate Tara in connection with the arrest of Sunny.

The district police had arrested Sunny from his house in November last year and recovered a .32-bore revolver, a handmade bomb and letter pads of BKI from his possession.

During interrogation, Sunny had revealed that he was contacted by Tara through a fake Facebook profile. Sunny had revealed that he was provided money by Tara's associates in Europe with which he went to Thailand where Tara had received him and he was provided weapons and bomb-manufacturing training there.

Tara's arrest in Thailand had substantiated the revelations made by Sunny in the interrogation. Now, the district police will try to further corroborate the findings by interrogating Tara.

Bhatti said that Tara is being interrogated by the agencies in other important cases so the district police are in no hurry to bring him here. But they will certainly interrogate him. Bhatti said that, if needed, the police can resort to interrogate both Tara and Sunny jointly.
