Police vehicle attacked after complaint of eve teasing

More than five youths attacked a police vehicle and broke its glasses at jodhpur village 5 km away from here on Friday night, when the police party went to arrest the youth facing charges of eve teasing.

The father and uncle of the victim girl sustained serious injuries in attack when they raised objection about eve teasing.

Goindwal Sahib DSP Harpal singh said that Satwant Singh and Lakhwinder singh resident of Jodhpur village lodged complaint against Ramesh Singh and Dahla Singh they followed their girls on a motorcycle.

Complainant alleged that the accused harassed their girls by passing lewd comments daily. He added that Satwant singh and his brother Beant Singh went to the home of Ramesh and dahla and raised objection about the eve teasing to their girls. They attacked on them with sharp edge weapons.

They got serious injuries and admitted in civil hospital at Tarn Taran.DSP Harpal Singh said that after the complaint of Satwant Singh, Sadar police party went to arrest them at jodhpur village. The accused attacked police party with sharp edge weapons, sticks and stones. The glass of police party's vehicle broken by the accused.

The Sadar police has booked five youths in this regard and registered a case against them under Section 354,341,324,323,34 of the IPC. The allegedally accused have been identified as Ramesh Singh, Dahla Singh, Jasbir Singh, Ranjit Singh and Daljit Singh resident of Jodhpur village.
