Potholed roads, garbage welcome commuters to Barewal

There are several roads in the area which have not been recarpeted even once after construction. The potholed roads pose threat to the commuters, mainly two-wheelers, as these lead to road mishaps.
The area residents say that the roads were dug up to install sewer lines but even after the passage of three years, the civic body hasn't got these recarpeted. During rainy season, the roads become virtual rivers. Waterlogging problem, according to the people, is a common sight.
The condition of the electricity poles is no different as some of these are installed in the middle of the roads, resulting in road mishaps. Also the loosely hanging electric wires pose threat to the commuters.
The road connecting south city road to Barewal is in a bad shape as garbage dump is situated at the entrance point of the area and almost half of the road portion is covered with garbage dump. Due to this, people use alternate routes to reach to their destinations as the foul smell emanating from the garbage irks all.
The residents lament that the sanitation workers do not visit the area for cleaning the roads. Residents said that they want the civic body to take a stock of the situation and get the issues resolved.
