The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) is planning to strengthen its social media networking so that it can reach out to various sections of society, particularly the youth to explain the policies and programmes of the central government, with particular emphasis on Punjab.
The initiative will start in Amritsar, with the PPCC planning to hold training sessions for the youth cadres of the party.
Social media trainers under the leadership of AICC officials will hold a workshop in the holy city on October 15 to train five educated and computer savvy youngsters from each constituency of the Majha belt. These youths will be trained in Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites. They will work for the AICC and PPCC's social media management.
PPCC vice-president and Majha incharge OP Soni on Friday said the trained youths will upload photographs, news releases and tweets so achieve a better public communication.
"If this becomes a success here, then we will extend it to other areas of Punjab. We will focus on the funds provided by the central government for projects in Punjab, for which the SAD-BJP government claims credit and often misleads the public,"said Soni.
