Former minister of state for external affairs and wife of chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Preneet Kaur, on Wednesday, refuted the allegations levelled by Anshul Chhattrapti, son of slain journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati, of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in 2005.

On September 8, Anshul accused Preneet, Congress leader Harminder Singh Jassi and BIS Chahal, then media adviser to Punjab chief minster, of influencing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI ) in favour of the dera chief.

Speaking on the sidelines of a function held by the state Red Cross Society, Preneet rubbished the accusations saying “the law of the land was above all and none could surpass it.”

It may be mentioned that Sunil Jakhar, president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, has already rubbished the allegations against Congress leaders on the dera issue.

Meanwhile, addressing students at the Government Elementary School in Ablowal, Preneet motivated students to work hard and surpass their parents' achievements in fields of business or service. She also called upon the teachers to impart latest knowledge to the students and tailor them to meet needs of society.

On visit of chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh to England, Preneet said the chief minister is committed to provide best employment opportunities to youngsters.

“For the development of the state and generate employment, the chief minister is inviting Indian tycoon Lakshmi Mittal and other NRIs to invest in Punjab,” she said.
