Manali sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Viney Dhiman visited the site at Aleo Nallah, 3 km from here, on Friday. It is learnt that the SDM sought details of the project. Meanwhile, Project officer Narayan Dutt conducted a throrough inspection of the and said the inquiry into the incident had begun.
He said the probe report would be submitted to Him Urja and Kullu deputy commissioner at the earliest. Besides, Jan Jagran Evam Vikas Sanstha, a local NGO, has alleged that the forebay tank's foundation was weak, which resulted in the wall collapse when water was put in it as part of a trial run on January 12. NGO chief Pushpal Chand Thakur has urged the district administration to inspect all hydropower projects being executed in Kullu valley.
