Programme on research techniques ends at GNIMT

A week-long faculty development programme (FDP) on “Research Techniques, Methods and Case Study” concluded at Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GNIMT), Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana on Friday.

The seminar was held for the faculty members of PTU-affiliated colleges. The resource persons GS Batra, MA Zaheer, chairman, Synetic Business School, Ludhiana, SK Singla, director GNAIMT, Phagwara, and Amanpreet from Punjabi University, Patiala, chaired the different sessions.

They deliberated on various aspects of research methodology, which are very important for PhD aspirants. On the first day, GS Batra, fellow, Singapore National University, and head, University Business School (UBS), Punjabi University, conducted two sessions on “Publish or Perish” and “Agencies for funding research work”.

The main topics covered during the programme were- writing first academic article for referred journals, preparing a research proposal for funding, factor analysis, testing of hypothesis, data collection and questionnaire design, sampling techniques, and relevant case studies.

SK Chahda from Punjab University, Chandigarh, who chaired the valedictory function, apprised the faculty about content analysis and his concluding notes along with academic.

He said it was important to lay emphasis on human values in day-to-day dealings.

Sandhya Mehta, deputy director, GNIMT, was the coordinator of the programme. She was assisted by Ramandeep Kaur, lecturer in management department.

Other faculty members from PTU-affiliated colleges attended the programme. At the end of the event, participating certificates were given to all participants.

HS Singha, director, emphasised that such programmes were very beneficial to the faculty in updating their qualifications' portfolio and also carry marks for promotion to higher ranks and designations.
