The district and session judge dismissed the bail applications of property dealers who were allegedly involved in the registration of sale deeds through fake power of attorneys (PAO), here on Thursday.

State Vigilance Bureau (SVB) had arrested property dealers Gautam Sharma, Suresh Kumar and Arvind Kumar on May 30 and Arun Kapoor on June 7, for getting the sale deeds executed from the sub-registrar Ambala, on basis of PAOs prepared from a non existing tehsil of Thatipur in Gwalior.

Their plea's had been dismissed by the lower court earlier.

The scam took place in 2005 when, the then Teshildar registered hundreds of sale deeds on the basis of said fake PAOs. Following the complaints, the SVB had registered a case in 2008.

According to sources, the investigations revealed that 271 such fake POAs have surfaced till date.

Locals have pointed out that the SVB has arrested the property dealers but have not questioned the revenue officials who were posted in the department during the alleged scam.

MLA Anil Vij said that he would raise the issue during the next assembly session.
