The state information commission (SIC) has directed the principal secretary (local government) to provide within week a copy of action taken report in connection with the alleged irregularities in the Nakodar nagar council as detected by the vigilance team of local bodies department.
State information commissioner Ravinder Singh Nagi directed the public information officer (PIO) of principal secretary to send the said information through registered post to the appellant.
Hearing an appeal filed by Dilbag Singh of Baina Pur village, information commissioner said that relevant postal receipt is
directed to be presented before the commission on June 20. Vigilance team of local bodies department had raided the office of Nakodar nagar council on March 4, 2011 and had unearthed several irregularities. The chief vigilance officer's report had indicted eleven officials and employees of the NC for irregularities in development works involving Rs 2-crore grant released by chief minister Parkask Singh Badal six years ago.
The report had called for action against the executive officer and cancellation of the resolution passed by the NC on December 2, 2011 declaring all works as satisfactory.
