Technical education minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday announced that government will not tolerate any laxity in providing quality education by the private technical institutes. He said this at a meeting with the representatives of unaided technical educational institutes.

He said the government officials will regularly inspect the private institutes and if irregularities are found, the affiliation will be cancelled. “If officials don’t perform their duty honestly, strict action will be taken against them too,” he said.

Channi also directed to install biometric attendance system to stop fake admissions in private technical institutes. He made it clear that all admissions will reflect online and no late admissions will be allowed. He said strict action will be taken against institutes not providing scholarships to the SC students.
