Hundreds of pensioners of the Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) staged a protest in front of deputy commissioner officer on Wednesday.

The agitators raised slogans against the PRTC management and the state government for not distributing pensions and salaries to employees.

All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) state secretary Nirmal Singh Dhaliwal said it was a sorry state of affairs that pensioners had not been being given monthly pensions for past three months.
"Giving pensions is a top priority of every organization. But, neither the state nor the PRTC is serious about it," he said.

Retired Workers' Association president Bhinder Singh said they had met the senior officials of the PRTC several times, but to no avail. Every time the management made excuses of being in financial constraints.
