PSEB Class-10 results: Over 500 students score above 80% in tricity

More than 500 students of Ludhiana have scored above 80% marks in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class-10 exams, the results of which were declared on Monday.


The number of students scoring more than 80% marks has increased as last year 305 students of government schools scored the above 80%.

The students, who have scored above 80%, are eligible for the Dr Hargobind Khurana Post Matric Scholarship Scheme and these students will be awarded a scholarship of Rs 2,500 per month for two years.

At Government Model Senior Secondary School, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), of the total 147 students, who appeared for the exams, 27 students scored above 80%. Last year 16 students of the school had scored more than 80% marks. School principal Sanjeev Thapar said: "Results have improved in comparison with last year as 133 of our students have got first division and seven students got above 90% marks."

At Government Model Senior Secondary School, Miller Ganj, of the total 72 students, who had appeared for the exam, 20 scored above 80%. Last year only three students of the school had scored more than 80% marks in Class-10 exams. School principal Barjinder Kaur said: "Better results were the outcome of the hard grind students were put through."

At Government Model Senior Secondary School, Model Town, of total 42 students appeared for the exam, 10 students managed to secure above 80%.

At Government Model Senior Secondary School, Cemetery Road, total 95 students sat for the exams and seven students scored above 80%. Last year only two secured more than 80%.

At Government Senior Secondary School for Boys, Multipurpose, not even a single student had secured above 80% last year, but this time five students of the school got above 80%. Total 50 school students had taken the exam.

Some government schools in the tricity failed to score above 80% marks in these exams, which include Government Senior Secondary School, Sekhewal; Government Senior Secondary School, Jodewal; Government Senior Secondary School, Khanpur; Government Senior Secondary School, Siahar; Government High Girls School, Siahar; Government High School, Paddi; Government Senior Secondary School, Jarkhar; Government Senior Secondary School, Boys, Jawahar Nagar.
