PSPCL employee held while taking bribe

The sleuths of Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday nabbed a junior engineer of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), red handedly while accepting a bribe.

The accused has been identified as Yograj Singh, posted at Sanaur sub-divison .

Disclosing this, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Pritam Singh said that the vigilance officials laid a trap on the complaint of one Tejinder Singh, a resident of village Khansia, who approached the vigilance bureau that the JE is demanding bribe for installing a transformer in his agricultural fields.

The accused had demanded Rs 15, 000 as bribe, but after negotiation he agreed for Rs 10, 000.

The Police marked the currency notes and handed over the complainant, and nabbed the accused while accepting the money at complainant's residence.

A case under prevention of corruption act has been registered and Vigilance Bureau will take the police remand of accused for further investigation of case.
