The employees of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) have strongly opposed the decision of the department to sell 32 acres of land in Sarabha Nagar to the land to Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA).

The powercom department is considering selling over 32 acres of land at Sarabha Nagar with residential and office premises to the GLADA.

In a letter by the PSPCL employees' union, it has requested the chief engineer, PSPCL Ludhiana, to revoke the decision.

According to them, the land has been sold due to the vested interests of some officials in the department.

"More than 100 employees are residing in these colonies and their kids are studying in schools in the area, would be directly affected by the deal. The decentralisation of offices would also cause a lot of inconvenience to the common man,"the union stated.
