Three months after the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) adopted the cashless medical treatment scheme, it has now started identifying hospitals at the district and the circle levels to provide better facilities to its employees.
Under the scheme, the PSPCL employees, pensioners and their family members are provided cashless emergency and normal medical facilities.
NPS Dhillon, PSPCL’s deputy chief engineer here, said that though several hospitals were empanelled at Chandigarh, Patiala and New Delhi, yet the decision of identifying more hospitals has been taken for the convenience of the beneficiaries.
“A committee has been formed to identify hospitals, so that they are empanelled at the earliest,” Dhillon said.
“Earlier, the employees had to travel to faraway places to avail medical services, but they can get the facility at their doorsteps,” he added.
He added that the scheme would help employees of all grades to have quality medical care in case of hospitalisation and surgery.
“We have also issued family health identity cards to the employees, so that they won’t find any difficulty in availing the services,” he said.
