PTU's joint registrar dies of cancer

Fifty-year-old Jaspal Singh, joint registrar, Punjab Technical University (PTU), passed away after he lost his battle with cancer here on Sunday morning.

Fifty-year-old Jaspal Singh, joint registrar, Punjab Technical University (PTU), passed away after he lost his battle with cancer here on Sunday morning.

He was one of the oldest employees of the university and had served various portfolios such as vice-chancellor's (V-C) secretariat, distance education and examination. Prior going on leave for the treatment, he had also served as controller of examination.

PTU V-C Rajneesh Arora expressed his grief over untimely demise of Singh.

The last rites of Singh were held at Harnamdaspura cremation ground where PTU registrar Rajneesh Kant Sachdev; director, colleges, Balkar Singh, and deputy controller of examination Paramjit Singh were also present.
