To maintain uniformity in calculating the internal assessment in undergraduate semester classes in all Panjab University affiliated colleges, the house tests have been replaced by class tests. Now, the colleges have been directed to conduct the class test for an hour, however, earlier the time duration for house tests was three hours.

PU has issued a letter to all colleges that 10% internal assessment will be calculated on the proposed formula to maintain uniformity. Of this 10%, class test will be of 5%, academic activities (semester, project and assignments) 3% and attendance 2%.

Earlier, during annual examination system the colleges used to conduct 100 marks house tests during December. But, in Ludhiana the colleges have been conducting house tests as per the previous practice.
Ramgariha Girls College principal Narinder Sandhu said, "We have received a letter from the university, so we will take the class tests. But, this year we will also conducting three-hour house tests for the first year students in October."

SCD Government College principal Dharam Singh Sandhu said, "We are conducting the house tests from September 24, as they are required to be taken in the college. For the betterment of the students we will conduct house tests, so that students are ready for semester exams."

AS College principal RS Jhanji said, "We will follow the university directions and will conduct the house tests for an hour."
