Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA) Jalandhar has failed to transfer the amount under the head external development charges (EDC) collected from the promoters of colonies within the municipal limits of the Nakodar municipal council.

The MC authorities had written letters to additional chief administrator of PUDA Jalandhar to transfer development charges of six colonies amounting to Rs 1.13 crore but of no avail.

The regional deputy director has also written to PUDA to transfer development charges to Nakodar MC, lying with it but to no avail. Residents in a notice to PUDA authorities have asked them to transfer development charges to Nakodar NC within reasonable time period or they would be constrained to file a petition in the Punjab and Haryana high court.
