Pulse polio drive starts in Jalandhar, Nawanshahr

Around 1,18,458 children below the age of five years were administrated polio drops on the first day of the three-day state- level immunisation campaign for pulse polio in the district, which was launched here on Sunday.

Around 1,18,458 children below the age of five years were administrated polio drops on the first day of the three-day state- level immunisation campaign for pulse polio in the district, which was launched here on Sunday.


A total number of 1,125 booths and 2,241 teams were formed by the health department to cover a total of
2, 64,309 children of the district.

Chief parliamentary secretary Pawan Kumar Tinu inaugurated the polio drive on Sunday from civil surgeon office.

NAWANSHAHR
As many as 32,546 children below the age of five years were administrated polio drops on the first day of the campaign in Nawanshahr district.

A total number of 528 polio booths, 1503 vaccinators, 103 supervisors, 659 polio teams, 16 transit teams and 11 mobile teams have been formed by the health department to achieve the overall target of covering 58,703 children in district.

The police drive was inaugurated by deputy commissioner Anindita Mitra on Sunday, who administered polio drops along with civil surgeon Dr Dharam Pal.
