Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday deputed two cabinet ministers to attend the state-level martyrdom day functions on Thursday as he is in Delhi for some important meetings.

Finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal and power minister Rana Gurjit Singh would represent the state government at the events at Hussainiwala (Ferozepur) and Khatkar Kalan (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar) to pay tribute to martyrs —Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.

An official spokesperson said the CM regretted his inability due to prior engagements to be part of the functions to pay homage to the martyrs
