Terming the union interim budget as an election stunt of the Congress, member of Parliament from Bathinda Harsimrat Kaur Badal has claimed that the Congress presented 'populist budget' after looting the nation for 10 years and only gave inflation, poverty, unemployment and corruption to every section of society.

Harsimrat said the Congress-led UPA at the Centre had no moral right to present the budget. "It should have resigned and should have given a chance to the new government at the Centre." Harsimrat was here to hold sangat darshans at several villages of Budhlada sub-division.

Referring to the statement given by union minister Jairam Ramesh who termed the 1984 riots a blot on the Congress and nation, she said, "After Rahul Gandhi, other Congressmen have also started admitting that the Congress was responsible for the anti-Sikh riots. On the other hand, Congressmen in Punjab, who want high positions and in order to earn brownie points from the high command, are giving baseless statements on the issue and thus playing with the sentiments of the Sikh community."

She claimed that Narendra Modi will be the next prime minister. Harsimrat trained her guns on Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal for stepping back from his responsibilities and the promises he had made to the people after taking the oath of his children.

"By failing to complete 18 promises he had made to the people of Delhi, Kejriwal had not only abdicated his responsibilities but also played a hoax with people of Delhi. People of the country have lost their faith in the AAP. They are waiting for the Lok Sabha elections to wipe out the Congress. The next front will with the BJP and Narendra Modi will be prime minister," she said.

Harsimrat held sangat darshans at Beeroke Khurd, Chakk Bhalaike, Ralli, Rangdial, Sirsiwala, Dyalpura and Khattriwala villages and doled out developmental grants besides distributing 106 sewing machines to women.
