Punjab government promotes seven IAS officers

The Punjab government on Wednesday promoted seven Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. These include three officers of the 1991 batch--SR Ladhar, Venu Prasad and Seema Jain--who have been promoted as principal secretaries/financial commissioners.

Four officers of the 2000 batch--Rahul Tiwari, Alaknanda Dyal, Kumar Rahul and AS Miglani--have been promoted to the super time scale. Of these, Rahul Tiwari and AS Miglani have been designated as secretaries to the state government.

An officer in the IAS branch confirmed this, saying the promotions would come into effect from January 1.

Kalra sworn in as PSSSB member

CHANDIGARH: Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday administered the oath of office and secrecy to Jatinder Kumar Kalra as member of the Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) in Chandigarh.

The strength of the Board has now gone up to 13.

Prominent among those present on the occasion were Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party chief Kamal Sharma, PSSSB chairman Santa Singh Umaidpuri, CM’s adviser Tikshan Sud and state government’s assistant media adviser Vineet Joshi.
