Animal husbandry, fisheries and dairy development minister Gulzar Singh Ranike on Friday announced the schedule for the district-level livestock and milching championship-2015. He said that after getting the nod from chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, Rs 4.3 crore had been released by the government.
Giving details, Ranike said that to promote livestock and horse breeding and equestrian sports, the department of animal husbandry, Punjab, would organise National Livestock Championship-2015, and all districts of the state had been divided into two groups. The first competition will be held at Amritsar and Bathinda on November 1-2.
He said the district-level livestock championship would be held in Kapurthala and Moga (November 3-4), Gurdaspur and Mansa (November 5-6), Tarn Taran and Muktsar (November 7-8), Rupnagar and Sangrur (November 9-10), Pathankot and Ferozepur (November 14-15), SAS Nagar and Patiala (November 16-17), Hoshiarpur and Faridkot (November 20-21), Nawanshahr and Fatehgarh Sahib (November 23-24), Jalandhar and Fazilka (November 26-27) and Ludhiana and Barnala on November 29-30.
Ranike said the national livestock and milching championship-2015 would be organised at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Muktsar, from January 8 to 12, 2016. He said cows, buffaloes, bulls, horses, riders, breeders and attendants would participate in it.
