Continuing its winning spree in the World Series Hockey, Sher-e-Punjab pipped Bhopal Badshahs 4-3 at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here on Saturday. With this win, the hosts maintained their lead in the league table with 19 points in their kitty.

Inderjit Singh and Mandeep Antil’s penalty corners in the 35th and 41st minute, respectively, gave Punjab the lead; Gagan Ajit Singh's excellent field goal in the 42nd made it 3-0. Bhopal reduced the margin in the 46th minute through New Zealander Casey Henwood's field goal, but Punjab regained the three-goal cushion in the 58th minute courtesy Mathhew Hotchkis. Badshahs’ Lali Kumar found the back of the net in the 67th minute.

In the dying moments, Badshahs earned a penalty corner and Shailender Bundela converted to make it 3-4. However, it was not enough for Bhopal to avoid defeat, as they went down by one goal.
