In an embarrassment to Punjab Police, two constables of 13th battalion of Punjab Armed Forces were found drunk during a surprise checking in their camp near Punjab Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh on Tuesday afternoon.

Battalion commander Sandeep Kumar Sharma said two constables, both named Angrez Singh, were found drunk during a surprise check by an officer, Jhujhar Singh, on Tuesday afternoon. Both were taken to Phase 6 civil hospital and strict action would be taken against them after their medical examination, he added.

According to Sharma, one of the cops was on duty, while the second was to join duty at 3pm. Meanwhile, high drama was witnessed at the hospital, as the cops pleaded to be pardoned. While one constable claimed that he had no drinks, another was seen apologising by bowing before onlookers.
