Punjab student run over by train while listening to music on rail track

A 20-year-old B Tech student, walking on a rail track, was run over by a train as he was listening to music on earphone and could not hear the sound of the whistle of the approaching train, police said today.

A 20-year-old B Tech student, walking on a rail track, was run over by a train as he was listening to music on earphone and could not hear the sound of the whistle of the approaching train, police said today.


The youth has been identified as Atul Sharma, a student of III year B Tech Electronics and Communications at a private university near here, police said.

Sharma was run over by the Amritsar-Kolkata Sealdah Akal Takht Express on Thursday, police added.

He belonged to village Mehra falling under police station Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh.
