All India Punjabi Jagriti Manch has announced support to Dushyant Chautala, the Indian National Lok Dal candidate from Hisar. Manch president and former home minister Subhash Batra told mediapersons here on Saturday that the Manch shall support all INLD candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana because the party has given due share to the Punjabi community and allotted three tickets to candidates from the community.

Batra added that, "The Congress has totally ignored Punjabis who represent 36 castes in Haryana. Out of more than one lakh government jobs, Punjabis were given only 674 jobs in nine years. In its rally recently held at Rohtak, the Manch had decided to support the political party, which would give due share of Punjabis while allotting tickets."

The INLD has honoured the feelings of Punjabi community by allotting tickets for the Lok Sabha elections to three Punjabi candidates from Karnal (Jaswinder Sindhu), Sirsa (Charanjit Singh) and Faridabad (RK Anand), he added.

Batra said, "We hope that the INLD would allot at least 25 seats to us in the Vidhan Sabha elections. Before 1966 all the people of this area were known as Punjabis. It is a culture and not a caste." Later, Batra addressed Punjabis and asked them to vote and support Dushyant Chautala.

Earlier, eunuch leader Raj Haseena, president, district women Congress committee, quit the Congress and joined INLD in the presence of Dushyant Chautala and the latter welcomed her into the party.
