Punjabi university functionaries reshuffled

A noted litterateur and critic in the field of Punjabi language, art and culture, Dr Jaswinder Singh, has been appointed dean, academic affairs of Punjabi university on Saturday.


Replacing Dr Paramjit Singh, who retired recently, Singh is a professor in the department of Punjabi and has also served as a dean of languages at the university in the past.

He has been holding the additional charge of dean, research, prior to his fresh appointment.

However, vice-chancellor Dr Jaspal Singh also appointed Commerce professor Dr JS Pasricha, professor as new dean of research, while Dr Minakshi Sharma, professor of Education and Community Services has been appointed as new director of the women's study centre by replacing Dr Manju Verma.

Meanwhile, Dr Nishan Singh Deol and Dr Bawa have been retained as provost and additional provost respectively.
