Punjabi University's sport wing trials on May 28

The sports department of Punjabi University here will conduct selection trials for the sports wing on May 28 at the sports complex on the university campus.

Raj Kumar Sharma, director, sports department, informed that university would conduct selection trials in athletics, archery, cycling, softball, baseball, handball, hockey, wrestling, cricket, , kabaddi, kho-kho, gymnastics, judo, table tennis, fencing, volleyball, netball, pistol shooting and air rifle shooting, football, swimming, basketball, badminton, weight lifting, power lifting & best physique, lawn tennis, boxing, rowing, kayaking, canoeing, yachting, yoga and taekwondo games.

"The selected players will be provided free admission, accommodation in air- conditioned hostels, medical aid and sports kit. Moreover, a diet of Rs 200 per day will be given to the selected players," he said.

The aspirants will have to report department concerned at 7am sharp.

They are instructed to carry their original educational and sports certificates along with two passport size photographs.

The players, who are interested to take part in the selection trials of long races like 20 km walk, half-marathon, 10,000 meter and 5000 meter in both men and women categories, are advised to report before 6.30 am at the venue.
