The VC said that during the trip, he delivered three lectures on Sikh religion, philosophy and tradition at different locations to apprise the local audience about the importance of Sikh religion and its scriptures.

He also interacted with members of various Sikh organisations working for the promotion of Punjabi language and discussed their requirements and the difficulties faced by them in their attempt to learn the language.

"I promised them academic help and patronage for promotion of Punjabi language, art and culture," he said.
