“There is strong anti-incumbency against the SAD-BJP government in Punjab as it has created a fear psychosis in the state. The common man does not have freedom of speech and is being intimidated by the government-controlled machinery to bow to their command. Also, Narendra Modi’s persona is against a federal set up and participative style of democracy which is so essential for maintaining the unity of India,” -- Vijay Inder Singla, Congress.

“You are very much aware that the Congress is not in a condition of winning 100 seats. They are lagging far behind than the NDA. So why people should vote for Singla? I have had 42-year-long association with the people of Sangrur and the people of this region. Especially the youths are well aware that NDA will form the next government and being the partner in NDA, we will have big share in the next government.” -- Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, SAD.

“These traditional parties are looting the rich Punjab since independence. Farmers are committing suicide, youths are becoming drug addicts, women are unsafe in the state and it’s all thanks to the misrule and corruption by the Congress, SAD and BJP. But now AAP has brought a ray of hope for the people of every section of the society. I am contesting this election on the behalf of people of Sangrur who always remained at the receiving end because the traditional parties failed to wipe out their tears. But we will win this time and work for the people’s cause.” -- Bhagwant Mann, AAP.
