Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will address election meetings in the picturesque Lahaul Valley in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday.
The first rally will be held in Keylong. After the rally, he would interact with the local people, and will head to Solan town for another rally.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who earlier visited Himachal Pradesh for poll campaigning, charged the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which rules in the state of making "big" promises, but failing to fulfill them, and added that its sole objective was to target the Congress on issues that have no foundation or basis.
Addressing a party rally in Mandi, Gandhi had said: "BJP has made big promises in Himachal Pradesh and made their government here. What have they done for the people?
Dwelling on the issue of corruption, which has left the UPA Government cornered in recent times, Gandhi defended the record of the central administration on the issue of tackling corruption, by saying: "The tools to fight corruption have been brought by the UPA, not the BJP."
Sonia said the Congress has acted sternly in dealing with corruption.
For the Lahaul and Spiti seat, Congress has pitted Ravi Thakur against the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) two-time legislator Ram Lal Markandey.
Elections to the Himachal Pradesh assembly are scheduled to be held on November 4.
