Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is likely to address Mahila Congress workers in New Delhi on July 21, prior to their demonstration wherein they plan to gherao Parliament to protest against the alleged all-round failure of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, according to Mahila Congress president Shobha Oza.
Briefing mediapersons on Tuesday, Oza, who was here to hold a meeting of the Haryana unit of Mahila Congress with regard to the July 21 protest in New Delhi, said that Rahul might address the workers prior to their gherao of Parliament though it would depend upon the "urgency and importance of his presence in the House to highlight various issues".
She said the Mahila Congress was organising the protest against the BJP government, led by prime minister Narendra Modi, which had failed on all fronts, be it inflation, corruption, crime against women or Madhya Pradesh's Vyapam recruitment scam.
Alleging that Modi was only a good event manager, she said that his government had taken U-turns on various promises made by it before elections and senior BJP leaders were now openly terming these promises as poll-time "jumle" (remarks).
About the state unit Mahila Congress, she said that though it remained a weak organisation for several years in the past, but it had now been revived as a strong body for the past about one year.
