Union road transport and highways minister Oscar Fernandes on Sunday said Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was the natural choice for prime ministership.
Reacting to the BJP's all-out efforts to project Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as the PM candidate, Fernandes said the Congress had nothing to do with the dreams of the saffron party. "The Congress is fully upbeat as Rahul is taking centrestage. He is the natural choice for prime ministership," he said.
On the UPA not coming forward to announce Rahul as its candidate, Fernandes maintained that there was no need for the party to do so. "We need not make a hue and cry over selection of the PM candidate, as is being done by the BJP," he added.
