Railway starts bi-weekly train from Jammu Tawi to Kanpur

For convenience of passengers, Northern Railway has introduced a new bi-weekly express train between Jammu Tawi and Kanpur. This train will benefit the passengers from Ludhiana station, as migrant labourers comes in huge numbers from UP and Bihar.

The train will run from Jammu Tawi on every Wednesday and Sunday at 5:30pm and will reach Ludhiana station at 10:40pm and will reach Kanpur at 1:55pm the next day.

On return journey it will start from Kanpur station every Tuesday and Saturday at 5:15pm and will Ludhiana station at 6:45am the next day and will reach Jammu Tawi at 12:10 noon.

Train will stop at Etawaha, Tundla, Aligarh, Khurja, Hapur, Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt and Pathankot Cantt stations enroute in both directions.

Hardik Sachdeva, a native of Etawaha, and work in Ludhiana, said, “There are very less number of UP and Bihar-bound trains from Ludhiana as compared to the rush on the route. Every new train for this route is a welcome step, as it will ease the journey.”
