The Punjabi University's Centre for Advanced Media Studies (CAMS) in collaboration with the National School of Drama, New Delhi, and the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) will organize three-week intensive workshop in film acting, videography and choreography at Andretta, near Palampur, in Himachal Pradesh from June 5 to 25, 2014.
Noted Bollywood actor Raj Babbar will inaugurate the workshop in which nearly 100 students from various schools in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh will be participating. Vice-chancellor,Dr Jaspal Singh, will preside over the concluding day function.
Chitrarth Singh, director of national award-winning films as "Chann Pardesi", "Shaheed Udham Singh" will interact with participating students.
Giving this information, professor Gurmeet Maan, director,CAMS, said that the workshop was aimed at facilitating an interaction between professionals and teachers in the related fields and students from various colleges and schools in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
Another objective to organise such a workshop is to give hands-on professional training to those who feel enamoured by the glamorous world of theatre, television and films. Equipment and other facilities, including free accommodation, are being provided by Punjabi University.
The participants will also be given training on short films. According to Prof Maan, the workshop is being organised at serene village of Andretta, which is endowed with natural beauty that provides a good ambience for such events.
