Renowned Kathak exponent, Pt Rajendra Gangani, on Friday enthralled the audience with his performance at the Cambridge International School, Amritsar, which was organised in association with SPICMACAY.

A Sangeet Academy awardee Gangani mesmerised the spectators with his wonderful use of folklore in his performance. He presented a scintillating Kathak dance with his team of accompanists, both performers and instrumentalists, including his brother Fateh Singh Gangani (tabla player).

Gangani is a disciple of Pt Kundanlal Gangani and a graduate from Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. He is trained in the Jaipur Gharana of Kathak dance

The students were enriched by the essence of his style that blended purity of tradition with the creativeness of a contemporary approach. He acquainted the learners with the basics and various nuances of Kathak, teaching them how to perform and depict the richness of the Indian tradition.
