Former Punjab chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal’s son Rahul Inder Singh Sidhu on Saturday organized meetings and addressed workers in the rural areas of Lehragaga assembly segment in support of Congress candidate Vijay Inder Singla.
Addressing the gathering, Sidhu praised the working of sitting MP Singla and informed about the various development works brought by Singla for Sangrur.
Addressing poll meetings, Vijay Inder Singla stated that he was aware of the aspirations of the youth and their problems. He had been championing their cause from time to time in the fight against drug and liquor mafia who are bent upon ruining generations by misguiding youth into bad habits.
Singla informed the gathering that he has been supporting village panchayats by giving development grants who passed liquor-free panchayat resolutions.
Lashing against Akalis, Singla said that Opposition had nothing to claim for its candidate on the front of development and in its absence was only trying to pass on the buck by criticizing the Congress and banking solely on Modi credentials.
Singla also claimed that several Akali Dal supporters also joined the Congress in villages of Kadail and Maniana.
