Ram Rahim asks followers to help rain-hit farmers

Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has appealed to his rich followers to come ahead to help the needy farmers of the nation, who had lost their crops due to unseasonal rain and hailstorms.

Ram Rahim made this appeal while addressing his followers at the monthly congregation at the Dera on Sunday.

He said the Dera will reward the person who will help the affected farmers in their hour of crisis.

Notably, in Sirsa district more than 50% of the Rabi crops have been damaged after the unseasonal rain and hailstorm. After the heavy rainfall and hailstorm on Sunday night, an estimated 60% crops were devastated in the fields on the outskirts of Dabwali.

Baldev Singh, Bahadar Singh and Kuldeep Singh, farmers of Chautala village said their crops were ready to be harvested but on Saturday midnight, heavy rain with hailstorm ruined their crops. They demanded prompt assessment of crop loss by the government.

While, block agriculture officer Sukhdev Singh said, he along with SDO Sahab Ram has visited the affected villages and the report of the damage crops have sent to the higher authorities.
