Hundreds of followers of Hisar-based Satlok Ashram head Rampal and members of the National Social Service Organisation on Monday held a protest to demand a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the murder case registered against the dera head.

Talking to the media, spokesperson of the organisation Deepak said Rampal was innocent and had been framed by the Haryana Police in false cases. He alleged that the members of the Arya Samaj in connivance with district administration had attacked the Karontha-based ashram in Rohtak district. He said false cases of murder, fraudulent land registry against Rampal’s followers had been registered by the Haryana Police.

The protesters also submitted a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the deputy commissioner seeking his intervention.

The spokesperson said Rampal followers had been demanding a CBI inquiry into all cases registered between 2006 and 2014, but to no avail. He said if the Union government failed to order a CBI probe, they would intensify their agitation.
