Chief minister Virbhadra Singh on Tuesday announced on the floor of the house that he was ready for an inquiry by the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) into the charges levelled against him by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He said in the house that he had faced several cases in various courts. "I have faced even session trials and come out clean," he said, adding, "If the BJP wants a CBI inquiry, I am ready for this."
"I am already facing investigation by various agencies, including the income tax department, and the CBI is already probing my income tax returns. Therefore, I need not fear any investigating agency," said Singh.
