‘Rejected’ by girl, youth ends life in Ludhiana

The deceased was identified as Muneed Nishad. He hailed from Azamgarh of Uttar Pradesh and was living here in Banda Bahadur Colony of Basti Jodhewal.

A 25-year-old man ended his life by hanging self in his rented accommodation late on Friday night. He left behind a suicide note saying that he has no desire to live as his lover has ‘rejected’ him.

The deceased was identified as Muneed Nishad. He hailed from Azamgarh of Uttar Pradesh and was living here in Banda Bahadur Colony of Basti Jodhewal.

The Basti Jodhewal police have initiated investigation after reaching the spot. The police have informed the family of the deceased about the incident and sent the body to the civil hospital for the postmortem.

ASI Sulakhan Singh, who is investigating the case, said that Nishad had worked in a private company for living and was residing alone. His landlord rang up police on Saturday morning when Nishad did not open the door after persistent knocking.

The police broke open the door and found the lifeless body of Nishad hanging from a ceiling fan. The police had recovered a suicide note during an investigation .

The ASI added that according to the suicide note, Nishad was in love with a girl but the girl ‘rejected’ him. However, he has not mentioned the name of the girl in the suicide note.
