The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Friday slammed former chief minster Captain Amarinder Singh for raising doubts over the memoranda of understanding signed during the Progressive Punjab Investment Summit, asking him to explain how much investment he had got into Punjab during his tenure.

In a statement here, SAD spokesman Maheshinder Singh Grewal said rather than trying to belittle “the phenomenal rs 42,000 crore investment in the past two years of the SAD- BJP government and the MoUs prsomisng Rs 1.15 lakh crore being inked at the summit, Amarinder should reveal steps taken by him to attract investments during his tenure as the chief minister.

“You are finding it difficult to digest that as compared to ‘no investment’ coming in during your five-year term, the SAD- BJP government has managed to get investments worth Rs 42,000 crore in just two years,” the SAD spokesman claimed.
