A national lok adalat will be held at the district and sessions court premises here on Saturday.
This was stated by the chief judicial magistrate-cum-secretary of District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) on Thursday.
He said the event would be inaugurated by Chief Justice of India Justice P Sathasivam and justice GS Singhvi from Supreme Court through video-conferencing.
He said the mega event was one of its kind in the judicial history as it would be for the first time that lok adalat would be held pan India under the Supreme Court.
He said it would be done with a motive to give impetus to reduce the pendency of cases in courts.
To make this event a success, 15 lok adalat benches have been constituted by the DLSA, apart from the permanent lok adalat and revenue courts, where several cases would be taken up to resolve the disputes amicably, he added.
