Roy Bois lifts Sanawar celebrity cricket league trophy

The Roy Bois team lifted the trophy of Celebrity Cricket league tournament held at the Lawrence School, Sanawar by defeating the Mumbai Heroes by nine wickets on Monday night.

The concluding day witnessed a nail-biting match between the two teams. The Mumbai Heroes batted first and scored a total of 111 runs for the loss of 7 wickets and the Roy Bois won the match by nine wickets. Raja of the Mumbai Heroes made a contribution of 70 runs followed by 28 runs by Sunny Deol.

The school's officiating headmistress, Shonu Mukherjee, bestowed a token of appreciation to Shomi Dass, the chief guest at the event, and addressed the participants for making the tournament a success. Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty thanked the audience for having fun as the participants did during the tournament. He thanked Apoorva Lakhia for bringing the teams together at Sanawar. He also requested Mukherjee to announce a school holiday.

Later, Ali Quli Mirza sang a song on behalf of the Mumbai Heroes and regaled the audience with his melodious voice. Later, the best fielder award of the tournament was given to Aditya Jain, the best bowler award to Rahul Roy, the best wicket keeper award to Ishan Yadav (Roy Bois), the best batsman award to Sangram Singh (Roy Bois) and the best player award to Subroto Malik. A token appreciation was presented to Bollywood actors Shetty and Sohail Khan and guests of honour Raja Bherwani, Sohail Khan, Sunil Shetty, B Singh and Capt Mohan Bir Singh, while the Indira and Deepak Roy memorial trophy was awarded to the Roy Bois team.
