Rs 25 lakh to be used for improving grain markets in Hamirpur

Hamirpur district marketing board has decided to spend Rs 25 lakh for strengthening grain markets in Hamirpur, Nadaun and Jahoo in the next financial year.

Hamirpur district marketing board has decided to spend Rs 25 lakh for strengthening grain markets in Hamirpur, Nadaun and Jahoo in the next financial year.


A decision to this effect was taken here on Monday, at a meeting chaired by Prem Kaushal, the marketing board chief. He said that while Rs 12 lakh would be used for the construction of boundary wall and yard of Hamirpur mandi, Rs 5 lakh each would be given to the Nadaun and Jahoo mandis for providing residential accommodation to staff.

During the meeting, the chairman said, the marketing board decided to help the farming community and to provide facilities of procurement of their produce from their doorsteps and to provide them remunerative price of their stocks.
