Rs 3 lakh looted from cement factory owner

Two miscreants looted Rs 3 lakh from a cement factory owner at the Jaspal Bangar area on Monday after injuring him seriously. The miscreants overpowered the driver of the car before attacking the factory owner.

The victim Vijay Kumar Juneja is brother of Ashok Juneja, former chairman of Improvement Trust, Ludhiana. Juneja is a resident of the Civil Lines area. He owns a cement factory in the name of Vidhata Cement at the Jaspal Bangar area.

The injured was rushed to Satguru Partap Singh Hospital. The Sadar police initiated investigation after reaching the spot. The police have also initiated process to lodge an FIR in this context.

Nitin, who is son-in-law of the victim, told that his father-in-law was going to his factory from the market. Juneja was sitting on rear seat while his driver was driving the car. As they reached near Jaspal Bangar village, two motorcycle-borne miscreants intersected his car and forced the driver to stop.

One of the miscreants overpowered the driver, while the other one walked to Juneja and demanded bag containing cash. When Juneja resisted the miscreants opened attack on him with sharp-edged weapons.

In the attack, Juneja suffered severe injuries on back and chest. He fell down on the ground, after it the miscreants fled from the spot taking away the bag.

The driver raised alarm and rushed Juneja to a hospital.

According to prima facie, the miscreants were aware about the activities of Juneja and they were already waiting for him on the way, as they were aware that he usually carry cash.

Sub-Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar, SHO at Sadar police station, said the police have been trying to identify the miscreants.
