Rs 6 lakh stolen from an Akali leader's car in Gurdaspur

Rs.6 lakh were stolen from an Akali leader’s car parked at the municipal council office in Gurdaspur on Monday.

Rs.6 lakh were stolen from an Akali leader’s car parked at the municipal council office in Gurdaspur on Monday.

The cash belonged to Harmindar Singh alias Happy Pahra,who is Gurdaspur block samiti chairman.

He reported to the police that he had withdrawn Rs.6 lakh from his account in the local branch of Canara Bank and had kept this amount in his car parked at the office of the Gurdaspur municipal council.

He said that he had gone to the market for shopping and had returned to his car after a few minutes and on his return he found that a window of his car was broken and the cash was stolen.

Local police have registered a case in this connection and have started investigation into the matter.
