Rs.7.4 crore released for revamp of Sri Hargobindpur roads

The Punjab government has released Rs.7.4 crore for the repair of 75.29 km roads of Sri Hargobindpur Assembly constituency, chief parliamentary secretary Des Raj Dhugga said this here on Friday.

He said 30 km roads had already been repaired while the remaining roads would be revamped soon.Sri Hargobindpur MLA Dhugga said a master plan had been chalked out for the overall development of the town under which the residents named after the sixth guru Sri Hargobind would have 100% facilities of sewerage, clean drinking water, street light, round-the-clock power supply and wide and clean roads.

Dhugga said the programme to develop Sri Hargobindpur town as a tourist destination was on the top of the state government's agenda. He said all roads leading to Sri Hargobindpur would be widened and all historical places in and around the town would be preserved and maintained, while the hoardings containing information about the historical places of the town would be installed at the sites concerned and on the roads leading to the town.
